Coastal Banksias, Cottonwood Hibiscus & Angular Pigface

From Wardell on Sunday I went to Ballina in search of Coastal Banksia – Banksia integrifolia subsp integrifolia – flower photos. Most of these have finished flowering and moved onto the seed pod stage but I did manage to find a few.

There was also one remaining flower on a Cottonwood Hibiscus – Hibiscus tiliaceus – with its large soft rounded leaves.

On the sand dunes there were also some brightly coloured dark pink Aungular Pigface – Carpobrotus glaucescens – is also called a Coastal Noonflower. This trailing plant has flehy leaves and flowers most of the year.
