The nature of how I work as an artist can often seem confusing to those on the ‘outside’.
It can at times be quite eclectic and may jump around projects. Consequently – yes I am still working on the NZ Wildflowers but also on the Tawny Frogmouths, an Australian wildflower calendar and a few other things all at the same time.
I have spent the last couple of years looking after family etc rather than exhibiting and developing my artwork, so this tends to be how I have been working for most of this time. It is difficult to maintain momentum in these situations.
That being said when I have a commission piece or a particular project(s) for an exhibition then I tend to stay on task but as I am currently not involved in these activities the advantage is that I have time to ‘play’ with different ideas.
I would like to spend this year consolidating on some of these ideas and finishing them!
So over the next little while I will take you through some of these processes of the different ‘projects’.
