Flannel Flowers

Flannel Flowers

Flannel flowers are now flowering in my garden and I know are out throughout New South Wales. These soft daisy-like flowers have petals that are quite thick and feel like a flannel cloth. The centres are raised like a soft button. They were the Centenary of federation emblem for NSW in 2001. They have a soft grey-green foilage with the flowers raising above on taller waving stems

  1. Hello quickthinker, the flannel flowers are not really that small but just have a lovely ‘soft’ quality as they sway on their longer stalks in the breeze. They are amongst my (many!) favourite Australian wildflowers…along with waratahs, banksias etc etc etc……..
