News

I am currently working on a number of projects – a wildflower calendar, tawny frogmouth drawings/print designs, illustrations, alphabets…and some catch up hand colouring and an idea for a new wildflower large print….Sometimes too many ideas and not enough time!

…..I’ll keep you posted as these develop…..

New artworks will also updated on my website – Lynette Weir.

  1. Hi Lynette
I found your web-site really interesting and helpful. I love your little squares of flowers!!
I was illustrating for years, had kids, out of the loop and am now thinking of trying to do lino cuts. Much better than selling one off paintings.
    Thank you Wendy

  2. Hi Wendy,
I’m glad you enjoyed the website!
I am working on an idea for a children’s book but have got stuck at the final spread of drawings but hopefully it will come together. Your illustrations look lovely on your website.
Linocuts are good in that you can get multiple images but the process from design to actual print can take a while depending on the size etc. A watercolour can take an hour or two but even a very small linoprint can take a week or two (or longer) from start to finish (that doesn’t include the hand colouring). But I do enjoy the process although carving takes its toll on the shoulder/neck muscles!
I am in the process of refreshing/learning a range of skills and seeing what happens – sounds a bit like where you’re at!
    regards
    Lyn

  3. Hello,
Thank you for linking to me. I love your site and I love your linocuts. I love making lino prints too, I find it relaxing when I am particularly stressed. Nothing better. Actually I am doing banksias as well. I think that is what banksias were made for: lino print designs.

ps I was at art school at the same time as you! same place.

    1. Hi Fifi
I have enjoyed your website for a while and have finally got to upgrade all the blogs I also read.
I love banksias and have been looking at planting some more in my garden.
Art school – so when did you graduate? I drove past the Paddington campus a few weeks back – it has changed. No more Finders Street & Rocks campus trekking (walking) over a 1 hr lunch break!
“Back in my day things were so tough…lol”

      1. hello!
next time you go by the artschool it will have changed yet again.
I actually have been to the same art school now three times and the latest graduation was in June this year. Finishing my thesis sort of whacked everything else out of my life but I ‘m getting back on track now.
Oh yes, I remember CUMBERLAND street campus! what a trek!

  4. What wonderful prints you produce, such detailed cutting. I enjoyed “stumbling” across your site as I was looking for hints on how to use lino blades. I have been a printmaker for about 7 years now an dfind I always learning. Thanks you for such lovely work.
