Hello from Mary in Minnesota,
Do you actually use the pictured book press in making your lino prints?
Just wondering as I have a nice book press that I use for making handmade paper to squeeze the excess water from the pulp.
Love your prints by the way.
Hope you have the time to answer the question. Any hints on how to pull prints using this press would be appreciated.
Hi Mary,
Yes I do use the old book press – it limits the size of the block to how wide you can have the paper. Apart from that it works well. You need to check the pressure is even across the plate.
Basically after inking up the block and placing the paper on top you place it under the plate and wind down the press. Some more info is here https://soulsongart.wordpress.com/?s=printing+linocuts
