Our Little Local Creek and Rainforest

These is our little local creek. There are a series of small waterholes which have yabbies and dragonflies…with water running over rocks. When we get rain – when the heavens open and torrential rain pours down – it can rapidly inundate this small gully and this small creek can roar along this creek bed.

There are these large trees that seem to go forever.

It has degenerated over time but would have been part of the big scrub from this area, they have been attempting to regenerate this area but it is a slow process that happens in fits and starts when funding becomes available. It is a quiet place which can bring some surprises – a local bush regenerator told me of being surprised one day when a large raptor swept down to the waterhole and out again – he said it was an amazing sight.
