Seeing Red

The wildflowers locally are really putting on a show. These two are the tree waratah, and flame tree. These tress have the capacity to stop traffic. I once witnessed an older lady stop in the middle of a busy road, get out of her car and rush over to pull off one of the flowering sections of the tree waratah that was in the medium strip gardens. She then promptly jumped back in her car and drove off. Through all of this she seemed oblivious to the traffic banked up behind her and attempting to go around her!! But I can understand her joy at such a spectacular flowering tree.
