There have been huge changes in my garden over the past five years which I will slowly document and update everyone on.
But one of the editions in a small raised garden section is this absolutely stunning Chorizema cordatum – Heart-leaf Flame Pea.
This narrow raised bed is near a paved area and it is where I am featuring some of my favourites including Sydney sandstone wildflowers. We have free draining red soil but it doe get ‘gluggy’ when we get a lot of rain.
The Chorizema cordatum – Heart-leaf Flame Pea is from souther-west Western Australia where I would love to visit in wildflower season, hopefully next year.
It has gorgeous green wide serrated leaves with wider spaced serrations but they are very insect damage prone. So a lot of the year it looks a bit, well let’s face it, a lot like it is not worth keeping.
But come Spring …. I have an inkling to work on a new Heart-leaf Flame Pea design ….
